It almost felt like a famine of updates, in fact, a sort of famine a news-digger comes across in ages. However, I never lost hope and my optimism has unearthed a brief outline of this majorly veiled installment titled, ‘Let Them Eat (Cup) Cake!’, slated to hit the airwaves on May 15, 2012.

Melanie will field a volley of questions, over the course of an interview. On the other hand, Tasha will mark her presence at the cupcake club, in the bid to rejoin the population of celibates.

Celibacy at this stage of her life might not be the right decision for her, as it’s a natural phenomenon, which occurs on its own accord.

I wonder for how long she will be able to sustain the vow of celibacy. A couple of weeks, a few months, or one year???

Make your guesses, as I leave you with plenty to watch out and think about as the yet-hidden plot of ‘Let Them Eat (Cup) Cake!’ unfolds on your television sets.

And what can Melanie and Malik do, other than making some tough decisions.

The personal equations in ‘The Game’ TV show have rarely afforded comfort to the emerging soccer stars and their loved ones. Many a female bounty hunters blessed with the oomph factor don’t give a second thought before grabbing a chance to strike a luxurious liaison with a ‘goal-machine. ‘

Naturally, the hazed-thoughts afflicted Melanie has to relook into her life and lay its major priorities before forging a permanent stay in a treacherous domain. On the other hand, the football magician who promised much but somehow failed to deliver his best due to personal demons will be revisited by some from his past.

I am talking the guy often seen out of control, Malik!

A two-way drama is on the cards with two of our favorite characters stranded on a crossroad. Which direction their lives will take now, is for all of us to watch and savor!

The entertainment rich package that is set to deliver all this and much is The Game season 5 episode 18, ‘Breakthrough, Breakdown? Break-Through.’
Slated to air on March 8, 2012, without even an ounce of doubt, it is a must watch!

The beginning of the preceding segment of the show’s current cycle, left me doubting Malik’s intentions, big time.

I simply, could not understand something…Whom did he want by his side, at the end of the day? Tasha or Pookie?

‘Tasha drove away men’, was all the reason, Malik possessed to convince Pookie on the matter. Well, as per his words, he was concerned for Pookie, as he simply, did not want Tasha to treat him in such a manner. But, somehow, his behavior seemed dicey, enough for one to believe his intentions, immediately.

He might also, not be wanting Tasha to mingle with Pookie, at all. Give that a thought, folks…

In the meanwhile, Derwin had quite a time tough time, hearing Janay’s plans to shift with his son DJ, and her new flame, Noah to NYC, where Noah, now has a job.

So wasn’t it going to be this way? I mean, I guess, Derwin should been waiting for this day, since the day he broke up with Janay. Did he expect her to wriggle away her life in his memories, and in raising DJ?

No, he did not…All that was affecting him at the moment, was the fact that he had no control over the life of his son, who was now going far away from him, robbing him off the opportunity to catch a glimpse of his son, every now and then.

The Game season 5 episode 17 will see Tasha left in a state of tension, soon after Derwin shows her the green flag on the issue of her carrying Melanie’s child, as a surrogate mother.

Derwin assumes all this would carry Melanie on cloud number nine, it does, but the happy spell does not last long for Melanie is disappointed with Derwin on something, something that will clear out in the segment that follows…

Lastly, to watch out for, will be a Jason, trying to pull Chardonnay out of her financial woes.

When you come to think of it, the title of ‘The Game’ is a very interesting one, and actually points towards a lot more than the literal sense of the ‘game’ that marked the beginning of the show. More than that, it is a show about the game that we are all a part of every single day.

This game involves a multitude of emotions, feelings, and occurrences, and is one that no one can break free from. The previous episode of the show, entitled ‘Party in A Box’ was a perfect example of this, and left us completely flabbergasted, with all the unexpected twists and turns that spanned through its hour-long run.

One of the most interesting things that we got to witness on the episode was the relationship dynamics of various characters on the show. Melanie and Derwin were seen going through a rough patch in their relationship, as Derwin made a complete fool of himself by calling in to Jason’s show and blurting out things he never should have.

Even though Melanie pretended to support him in front of his enraged fans, she gave him a piece of her mind behind closed doors. We also witnessed Chardonnay making a desperate attempt to win Jason over, as she organized a party and invited all his friends.

The trick sure did work, as Jason and Chardonnay had made up by the end of the episode. If only real life was that easy!

And finally, Tasha let Pookie into her house, setting the stage for some scintillating drama, to watch which, we shall have to wait for The Game season 5 episode 16 to air. Stay tuned!

Derwin has the consequences of missing a regular block-game, served on his platter. He knew it was coming for the miss did cost the team a lot, and reflected, his irresponsible attitude, rather casually.

Sabers had to start again from the scratch, from the quarterback stage, while Kwan is left out with an injury that seemed grave enough to put him away for at least, the current season.

Left with little options, the coach had to unwillingly launch Malik, and watch him run the attack, a decision that was seen reaping a lot of benefit for the team.

Meanwhile, Tasha was developing cold feet towards Melanie about being her surrogate. She wasn’t interested in Melanie’s proposal, and was overtly, cautious of all the mind-games that Melanie has been playing, day in and day out.

While Derwin was busy playing one of the most dramatically challenging game of his entire career, Melanie comes upon a scary idea – to get across the message to Derwin, without wasting another single second.

She knew that her husband was amidst an important game that was on air, all across, but she had no other option than to interfere with her fateful message.

She had to get him on board, at any cost, and this is where the game will be seen complicating, further.

The Game season 5 episode 15 will find Jason introducing Chardonnay to his pals, and Kwan’s injury raising concern.

The current season of ‘The Game’ has been immensely intriguing, to say the last. Over its past 4 seasons, the show has spanned over a variety of storylines, bringing on our screens every bit of the drama that we all so love to watch, along with presenting us with some food for thought, which was relevant to our own lives.

The dynamics of the relationship that has weaved between Melanie and Derwin has been one of those amazing concepts, that we could never get tired of watching. It has been nothing short of mesmeric, to follow their stories, as they went on from being inseparable lovebirds, who were ready to give up just about anything to be together, to being the quintessential husband-wife duo that they have gone on to become.

As the couple finally walked down the aisle in the previous season of the show, there were speculations that the show had reached its pinnacle, and a downfall was now inevitable.

However, the ongoing season has proven that we couldn’t be any more wrong, since tying the wedding knot, and going from being “together” to being “married”, has actually escalated the drama between this couple to an all-new level.

It seems that the writers of the show had realized that the possibilities between them as lovers had been exhausted, and it was now time for them to move on. After all, four years is a long time to be in a romantic relationship without getting hitched even in real life!

Season 5 started on an electrifyingly high note, as Derwin accused Melanie of having got a secret abortion done in her teenage years, which was why she was unable to have a baby now. With all the bitterness that crept between them over the following episodes, it was difficult to imagine that they would ever end up on a common ground again.

However, The Game season 5 episode 14 will see them doing just that, as they agree to opt for surrogacy to have a child. Tune in, to see what happens next!

Melanie felt it was time to get back to her lived ones, and it was time again for her to smash communication barriers in between her and her lived ones.

Tasha comes to know of Melanie’s infertility here, and doles a decision that would cause Melanie and Derwin to remain indebted to her, for all their lives.

Eventually, Tasha pushes in assistance from her end, assistance that though, wasn’t readily accepted in the beginning, slowly came out as Melanie and Derwin’s last ray of hope.

Tasha suddenly dives into the situation, by offering to turn into a surrogate mother to help them out with kids.
The tension soars up at their villa, as the couple discuss Tasha’s offer amongst themselves.

Also to watch out for is how immature Derwin’s friends seem to appear, when they try diverting Derwin’s mind, first with a game of poker, and secondly, by turning the quiet ambience into a noisy and a wild one.

But, little did these friends of Derwin understand the pain of going through whatever he was at the moment, and the amount of pain it caused to see his own wife deprived of the fortune of being able to bring in new life on this planet.
The poker game turned into a fiery bash, and only the next segment will let us watch, if all these really affected Derwin and his wife, Melanie, at the moment.

The Game season 5 episode 13 will see Loretta Devine under the character of Tasha’s mother, Loretta Devine appearing to assist her fulfill her difficult promise.

The distance between Tasha and her mother, was taking its toll on the old lady, who will be seen grabbing this opportunity to find some time alone with Tasha, in order to eventually, demand some respect from her.
Tasha will be aptly replying back demanding a bit of the same for herself too.

So all the riffs and the tiffs in between Melanie and Janay, as revealed in installments from the show’s past, cropped up only because of a match in their love interests – Derwin Davis – their common boyfriend.

We all did watch and experience the latter match getting a bit too intense towards the end of the second cycle, with Janay found pregnant with Derwin’s baby.

But, then all this couldn’t pull the lovers, Melanie and Derwin apart, as they soon get married to each other, privately.

Here there’s something I would like to discuss…A woman, when she goes through a phase of experiencing her better half in another affair, is extremely hurt, but the other woman tends to get her curious for life.

There’s a reason behind this for she knows that somehow, both of their choices in men click, and hence there’s a vague possibility that once the man is done with the extra-affairs and things settle down in between the couple, the woman develops a soft corner for the very female, her man was running a simultaneous affair with.

So this might be one of the main reasons why Melanie wanted to get closer to the woman, who shared with her, a similar choice in men.

As we already saw, Melanie threw a party for Janay and her fiancé, where all that she wanted was Derwin to gel with Janay’s man, so that they could do away with tensions of the past, once and for all.

The Game season 5 episode 10 will see Reynaldo trying to save his relationship with Tasha, who in turn might just not be as willing to help her man in fulfilling his motives.

She announces that she had paid him for sleeping with her in a such a loud manner that everyone in the room gets to hear her crystal clear.
Was it an intentional move or did Tasha, mistakenly commits this huge a blunder is what we have to find out in the installment that follows.

It is pretty undeniable a fact that Malik is a gifted player and his recklessness is not new for the world has witnessed many, a legend setting exemplary examples of recklessness along with performances that neatly, shadowed it all.

Also, undeniable remains his involvement in an affair with the owner, Mr. Keith’s wife. But, does that in any way, diminish his on-field caliber?

Well, it doesn’t and we guess, its high time Mr. Keith realized his responsibility towards the sport and his team, and arrived at decisions, uninfluenced by personal grudges.

This is what Derwin and Tasha must be guessing in The Game season 5 episode 8, after all that Mr. Keith announced lately. With a notice in hand, and Malik substituted again, Derwin will find it tough trying to freshen up Malik’s image in Mr. Keith’s mind.

On the other hand, we can expect to watch out a depressed Tasha, whose WMD campaign wasn’t enough to shove Malik past Mr. Keith’s eyes.

Having put down Melanie’s offer to repair the relationship in between them, Tasha will now find it difficult without anybody trustworthy nearby, to confide in.

She also has to understand that Derwin and Melanie are the only souls, who desperately want Malik to gain back all his success, and what’s more important is the fact that they are trying on their personal level to have Malik back in action, as soon as possible.

All in all the stakes are like this…It’s not going to be easy ahead for Malik, and secondly, Derwin has already taken a public stand and a notice for Malik. Not only this, his cold shudder to Irvy’s warnings said it out clear “Shut the F*** Up, and let me pull this guy back into limelight”…

Well, that’s what conviction is all about, and more than everything as mothers around the world often, put it aptly,” Do something right, because it is right”.

And, Derwin’s just doing the same…

Lately, we saw Melanie growing frustrated over her inability to conceive and extend her family. The matter has been troubling Melanie and finally as she runs out of patience, she visits a fertility clinic along with Derwin to diagnose any defect in her, if any.

The doctor ran a few tests and in no time revealed Alec’s abortion in the past – something that she just did not want to accept. Having heard and understood the diagnosis, Derwin in The Game Season 5 episode 1 will be seen straight away accusing Melanie of an abortion that on the top of everything had been hidden from her loved ones in the present. The forthcoming installment will reveal if Melanie is actually successful in convincing Derwin, otherwise.

No matter what state Melanie was in at that moment, she did not need to take it out on people around as she did with Tasha. Being aware of the fact that Tasha would soon be managing professional affairs of both, Malik and Derwin, Melanie attempts to offer her a choice in between the both.

We did watch Tasha reacting pretty negatively to this stunt that though appeared demeaning provided Tasha with an opportunity to express her dislike for Malik, at the moment.

In The Game season 5 premiere, we will find Tasha coming to Malik’s help in controlling Jenna in an overtly intoxicated state. Tasha capitalizes on the opportunity and corners Malik to enquire into his relationship with Jenna.

In the meantime, the upcoming installment will also find Derwin unhappy with the new quarterback declaring that the season was pretty shameful at a press conference. The quarterback also Camellia, leaving her ex-flame Jason after dinner to catch up with him, as a result Jason spends the night all disturbed and sleepless.
